Incorporated in 1999 as a BOI approved company, Gateway CFIT offers top quality computer training in multiple delivery methods and formats according to the needs of clients. Within a short period, Gateway has grown from a single location training centre, to one of the largest branch networks, with over 30 centres, providing training to more than 5,000 people monthly throughout the island.

Application Training
Gateway Centre for Information Technology is the premier training provider of Sri Lanka in this sector. Gateway has provided training to thousands of Sri Lankans in various applications ranging from basic literacy to advanced levels.

One of the most reputed intermediate qualifications, the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) was first introduced to South East Asia in 1999 by Gateway. This was at a time when ECDL was gaining popularity in the UK but was almost unheard of in Sri Lanka. Later, when the ECDL Foundation launched the International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL), Gateway was the first organization to receive accreditation from the ICDL Asia Pacific.

Technical Training
With over 50 courses, Gateway is one of the few training organizations in Sri Lanka that provides skills based professional training directly needed for the work place. As a Microsoft Certified Technical Education Centre (CTEC), Gateway has made a substantial contribution to the development of a highly skilled work force in Sri Lanka.

Over the years, Gateway has made an important contribution to the career advancement of scores of Sri Lankan students. With programmes ranging from Diploma level to Degree Level, Gateway offers wide opportunities for students to make head starts in their careers.

Proven Faculty
The engine of growth at Gateway has been its qualified and experienced staff of over 270 Faculty members. Our policy of continuous professional development by way of ‘train the trainer’ programs and in-house workshops keep all our faculty members updated with latest methods of teaching and learning. Selected members are provided with the opportunity of overseas training.

In the field of Microsoft training, our training is delivered by Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCT). MCTs are regarded as Microsoft product and course experts who have the instructional skills and technical qualifications to deliver quality training to IT professionals and developers.

Up-to-date methods
Our instructor-led class size is 20 or less students in order to maintain a conducive learning environment. Every student is allocated a computer for himself/herself. Audio-visual and multimedia equipment is used to aid the instructor’s delivery. Learning modules are accompanied with examples and labs or exercises to facilitate learning and applying the knowledge.

Due emphasis is paid to different kinds of learners. Principles such as BEM, VAK, etc. are made aware to all our faculty members.

Based on more than 10 years of classroom experience, Gateway’s courseware manuals are easy to understand and easy-to-use as a reference tool. The world-class standard of Gateway’s courseware is underlined by the fact that some of our books are published in the UK by Nelson Thornes as recommended text for the European Computer Driving Licence. We also offer customized courseware in which customers can choose modules from different levels and titles to build a customized course.
