Tier 3

Course Content: Introduction to Computers, Text and Images, First Publication, Model & Simulate, Going Online, Search & Store, Let’s Compose

Tier 4

Course Content: Computer Essentials, Control, Electronic Mail, Further Turtle Graphics, Working with Text, Branching Databases, Desktop Publishing

Tier 5

Course Content: Introduction to Computers, User Interfaces, Robotics and Virtual Reality, Basics First Composing Music, Databases, Monitoring, Graphical Modelling, A Computer System, Software, Spreadsheets, Computer Control

Tier 6

Course Content: Computer Basics, Inside a Personal Computer, Computer Security, Word Processing, Spreadsheets Multimedia Presentations, The Internet, Imaging and Designing, How Computers Work, Computer Networks, Databases, Electronic Mail, Advanced Turtle Graphics

Tier 7

Course Content: Introduction to Computers, New Trends in IT, Networks, Programming Concepts, Word Processing, Desktop Publishing, Databases, Web Designing, Introduction to Data Logging, Art and Animation, Data Logging

Tier 8

Course Content: General Concepts, Hardware, Software, Electronic World, Using the Computer and Managing Files, Spreadsheets, Internet and E-mail, Movie and Sound Editing, The use of IT in Everyday Life, Health, Safety and Environment, Programming Concepts, Programming with Visual Basic, Computer Art and Design If students wish, they can sit two modules of the ICDL examination.

Tier 9

Course Content:Information Networks, Security, Copyright and Law, Types of Information Systems, Word Processing, Presentations, Databases, Programming with Visual Basic, OOP Concepts, Project Management Concepts, Spreadsheets Control, Website Design, Computer Animation, Project.
If students wish, they can sit for five modules of the ICDL examination.

Students are coached for the following examinations. All requirements of the particular Examination Board are covered in the programme.

Cambridge GCE OL Computer Studies

Theory modules: Introduction to IT, Hardware, Software, Data Integrity, System Analysis and Design, Commercial and General Data Processing, Programming Concepts, Monitoring and Control, Data Communication and Networks, Computer System Security, The Social Effects of Information Systems and Employment in the IT Field.
Practical modules: O/S, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Programming, Internet, Presentation & Multimedia, DTP, Web Designing, and Data Logging.

Assessed by written exams and one project based on System analysis and design.
Students are prepared for the Cambridge GCE OL Computer Studies (7010) or IGCSE OL Computer Studies (0420) examinations.
Course Duration: 18 months.

Edexcel GCE OL Computing

Theory modules: Introduction to IT, Hardware, Software, Data Integrity, System Analysis and Design, Commercial and General Data Processing, Programming Concepts, Monitoring and Control, Data Communication and Networks, Computer System Security, The Social Effects of Information Systems and Employment in the IT Field.
Practical modules: O/S, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Programming, Internet, Presentation & Multimedia, DTP, Web Designing, and Data Logging.

Assessed by written exams including case studies and one project based on System analysis and design.
Students are prepared for the Edexcel GCE OL Computing (7105) examination.
Course Duration: 18 months.

Edexcel GCSE ICT

Students are prepared for the Edexcel GCSE ICT full course (1185) or short course (3185) examinations.
Course Duration: 24 months.

Edexcel IGCSE ICT

Theory modules: Introduction to IT, Hardware, Software, Data Integrity, System Analysis and Design, Commercial and General Data Processing, Programming Concepts, Monitoring and Control, Data Communication and Networks, Computer System Security, The Social Effects of Information Systems and Employment in the IT Field.
Practical modules: O/S, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Programming, Internet, Presentation & Multimedia, DTP, Web Designing, and Data Logging.

Assessed by written exams, one project and Activities baste on set tasks using a Case Study.
Students are prepared for the Edexcel IGCSE ICT (4385) examination.
Course Duration: 24 months.

Sri Lankan O Level IT

Theory modules: Introduction to IT, Logic Gates, Hardware, Software, Data Integrity, System Analysis and Design, Commercial and General Data Processing, Programming Concepts, Monitoring and Control, Data Communication and Networks, Computer System Security, The Social Effects of Information Systems and Employment in the IT Field. Practical modules: O/S, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Programming, Internet, Presentation & Multimedia, DTP, Web Designing, and Data Logging.

Assessed by written exams including one project based on System analysis and design.
Students are prepared for the GCE O Level IT examination conducted by the Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka.

Course Duration:
Regular Course: 24 months.
Crash Course: 12 months.
