We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs.Nirmali Wickremesinghe as Consultant to the Gateway Group of Schools. In her new role, she will ensure holistic all-round learning to every student at Gateway by working closely with Heads of Schools and inspiring teachers with innovative ideas.

Mrs. Wickremesinghe counts forty years in the field of education having worked in state, private and international schools both here and abroad. She is a renowned educationist who pioneered many innovative teaching methods aimed at stimulating the student mind. She firmly believes in the value of holistic education and the importance of children appreciating their own culture and historical roots. She had a very successful tenure as Principal of Ladies College where she was responsible for spearheading initiatives that improved both academic performance and personality development. She was also the Deputy Principal of Bishops college and responsible for teacher training at the British School prior to that.

Mrs. Wickremesinghe is known to be a creative educator who relates well to children and one who enjoys being with them. She is totally child centered and is committed to the shift from teacher centered teaching to student centered learning. Mrs.Wickremesinghe holds a degree in Biological Science from the University of Kelaniya, a teachers Diploma from Trinity College London (ATCL), a Diploma in Primary Education and a Certificate in Counseling.
